Family Visits – Being on a ‘moving sabbatical’ allows us the opportunity to visit family and friends along our travels.  Before we even left, we had friends come and help us christen our vehicle and partied with about 12 people inside the RV parked outside our home! Jenna joined us on the first night as we headed to Jekyll Island where we were joined by James and his wonderful friend Aly.  We kayaked and roasted marshmallows at a lovely campground!

A May Family Reunion had the perfect backdrop with an eclipse coming to totality very close to Scott’s mom’s home near Greenville S.C..  11 people shared a field and some shade to celebrate the dance of the moon and the sun on August 21st.

In Asheville our generous friend Karen has been storing Scott’s Harley Davidson motorcycle. We enjoyed a visit to the Wicked Weed Brewery with her! Jim, Alyssa, Emilio and Karen Luz-Ricca cooked up an amazingly delicious and healthy meal as we swapped stories and life stories.  Niece Katy and her beau Zargham gave up some serious work and study time to have lunch at Northside Social.

Visiting with Nanny and Poppi in Pennsylvania gave us some much needed down time, laundry and family bonding.  They were so gracious and even watched Rukah for a few days while we hiked some of the PA Appalachian Trail. Carolyn’s brother Mark and his two son’s Cody and Taylor cooked up some amazing asparagus and unforgettable apple pie as we visited Tobyhana PA!  Next stop, Cape Cod to spend two days with Carolyn’s sister-in-law, Judy, a native Cape Cod-ian!  We toured Martha’s Vineyard and some of the best Cape Cod has to offer!

More to come as we visit old friends and make new ones!
